Lake Shore Logistics corporate office is based out of North East, PA. We are a growing organization looking to find talent to join our logistics, transportation team as a FREIGHT BROKER. FREIGHT BROKER - This is NOT a remote position.

Responsibilities as a Freight Broker

• Secure freight of all kinds and all equipment types for direct customers
• Build and maintain customer and carrier business relationships to improve transportation efficiencies for them
• Quote, bid, and negotiate rates with customers and freight carriers
• Schedule and track shipments from start to finish and report back to the customer
• Contribute to and be involved in team and individual goals
• Data entry and basic math
• Some after hours/weekend work
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience as a Freight Broker required
• Have your own book of business
• Prior experience in the transportation industry required
• Prior experience in a fast-paced office environment preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and follow-through
• Strong communication, negotiating and math skills
• General computer knowledge a must
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking a must
• Works well in a team environment
